Hello and welcome to the sony nex-vg10 review here you’ll find the good,bad and the ugly about the new sony nex-vg10, although this camera is awesome it has some things that will make it horrible for some people.

let’s talk about the great things about the sony nex-vg10, the video quality is just great this camera records in 1080 full HD, It also has auto focus so you don’t have to mess with complicated menus, but again some people will like to have control over the focus.

On the two first post on sony Nex-vg10 hd review we talked about the great quality on video as well as the still 14 mp pictures,  also the basic menu which make it easy to use , the shooting sound when you take still pictures and the great feature of interchangeable lens.

Now let’s talk about the sensor the sensor on the sony Nex-vg10 hd is just like the one you find on the Sony NEX 5 DSLR, 23.4 x 15.6mm Exmor APS HD CMOS Sensor.

This sensor will make look the subject of your shot in sharp focus with the background softy blurred, this will make a feel on the video just like the high budget productions, once again this is great for some people but not for all, for example if you are shooting something with a busy repeated texture will take an extra minute or two to get the right focus.

Sony Nex-vg10 hd review will also tell you about the 14 MP still camera,though it does not have a RAW settings.

Most of the functions on the sony Nex-vg10 are manual all you have to do is follow the instruction to set the camera the way you want.

Did I mention my camera didn’t come with memory card, I’m not sure is this is the way the ship all the sony Nex-vg10 hd cameras, or maybe they just  forgot when shipping mine, well if yours does not come with it you better buy it right in the spot, otherwise this camera will not function.

Make sure when buying the memory card  that you get the fasters biggest you can afford, this will make all the functions of the sony Nex-vg10 hd camera a lot smooth and fast.

I do realize this camera has great things and also some not so good but for the money I spend I am pretty happy with it, I needed a camera that can take sharp HD image on video and I got it with out losing an arm or a leg, plus I got a fully functional 14Mp still camera as well, I didn’t know you cloud take great still picture with this camera as well ,you can’t bit that.

The nex-vg10 review is the continuation of our introduction article on the nex-vg10 HD camera, on the first article we saw about the great resolution on video, the poor menu options that goes to the basics.

In this post I want to tell you about the nex-vg10 review on its digital 14 mega pixels still picture camera, and the cool feature of changeable lenses, sony really made a statement with this idea that makes the only camera in the market  that you can change the lenses, well at lease at the time I’ve written this nex-vg10 review.

The quality of the 14 mega pixies camera is as amazing as the video feature on the nex-vg10 camera, this camera is as powerful to make hollywood look like movies as to take gorgeous still pictures.

You can easily replace your digital camera and start using the nex-vg10 to take just pictures, the quality is really good.

All the image quality you find on the sony nex-vg10  is due to the powerful 18-200mm E-mount 11x Zoom that’s why the picture quality on the nex-vg10  is so great,  sony made it possible for the user to change the lenses if one wants, but the one lent that comes with the camera is really good the zoom is very impressive .

Ok so far we cover the great picture quality of the nex-vg10 camera and the power lend that comes with it, but I found something sony missed when making this camera and that is the shooting sound you hear every time you take a picture, you can’t shoot it off, there is no way to turn this feature off,  that is one thing I don’t like about the nex-vg10 camera.

But if you don’t care about the shooting sound when you take pictures you wouldn’t mind this camera don’t have an off bottom,sometimes you don’t want to be the lauders in the room.

The video quality is awesome ( check around to see a video sample of the nex-vg10 )
the picture quality is just beautiful, the distance you can zoom with this camera will amaze you, the menu is very basic, not much you can  mess with it.

The zoom is manual which is great if you want to have full control when filming, you can use different lenses you’ll have plenty at your dispose, that is also great on the nex-vg10 camera.

Again this camera is not for every one for some people is more important the quality of the video or the quality of the pictures, and some other people are looking more into the bad position of the strap which interfere with the record bottom,  or some will like that the nex-vg10 camera has auto focusing and some other will be very angry trying focus by their own, this camera has auto focus by the way.

In all I think I made great investment when buying nex-vg10, I’m happy with the quality of footage you can take with this camera which is a full 1080 HD, as well as the great picture resolution, is the closes you can get to professional equipment and not spending more than $1700 (at lease that was the price check on amazon).

One thing is for sure about this camera, the sony nex-vg10  is not for everyone, on this new creation from sony, they tried their best to achieve great HD resolution camera for under $2000 is like giving to the general public all the capabilities of a professional looking video , you know those cameras that sells for over  $7000,  that kind of quality, unfortunately in the process sony end up sacrificing other aspects on the sony nex-vg10.

Sony nex-vg10 reviews will begin by saying that this camera is great in the following aspects:

The resolution of this camera is the one I personally was looking for, at lease for that money,  check around this blog I uploaded some videos with footage filmed by the sony nex-vg10 hd camera. so you can see the quality and resolution of the image.

Now if what you look in a camera is the menu bottoms like the set up menu, well my friend the sony nex-vg10 sucks,the things you can do are the basics, shoot great looking video  this camera is super easy to use, it goes right to the point the control menu is located inside the lcd screen see picture below.

So far We touch on sony nex-vg10 reviews how great the video resolution is, and how basic the menu is, which can be good and can be bad:

Can be good if you don’t like to mess around with the menu bottoms having auto focusing so you just focus on shooting great scenery.
